Wallet Browser Extension Usage Guide

This guide walks you through installing, setting up, and navigating the FastSet Wallet browser extension. You will also learn how to create assets, send and receive tokens, manage accounts, and import or recover a wallet.

Before we go into how to use the wallet, it is important that you understand the meaning of the following terms:

  • Transaction: A transaction is an action recorded on the FastSet network. It could be sending tokens, updating a balance, or performing another operation that the network processes.

  • Transfer: A transfer is a specific type of transaction where tokens move from one wallet to another.

Difference between transaction and transfer: All transfers are transactions, but not all transactions are transfers. For example, creating a new wallet or interacting with a smart contract counts as a transaction but not a transfer.

1

Install the extension

In this step, you'll install the FastSet Wallet browser extension on Chrome and pin it to your toolbar for easy access: Step 1: Download & unzip the compressed package

  • Download the compressed package of the FastSet wallet extension.

  • Locate the downloaded .zip file on your computer.

  • Right-click the file and select Extract All (Windows) or Open With > Archive Utility (Mac).

  • Once unzipped, you will see a folder named dist. This is the folder that contains the FastSet Wallet extension.

Step 2: Upload the unzipped package to your Chrome browser

  • Open the Chrome browser and navigate to the menu at the top-right corner.

  • Scroll down to Extensions and select Manage Extensions.

  • Enable Developer mode, click on Load unpacked and select the dist folder you just unzipped.

  • Once loaded, pin the extension to your browser for quick access.

2

Create a new wallet

In this step, you'll create a new wallet by setting a password and saving your recovery phrase:

  • Open the extension and you'll be prompted to either create a new wallet or import an existing one.

  • Click on Create new wallet, then, enter and confirm a password.

  • Copy and securely save the recovery phrase provided, then click Confirm and Create. Remember, do not share this phrase with anyone.

  • With this, your new wallet is now created.

3

Fund your account

To perform transactions, you need tokens in your account. To do this, click on Faucet button and you'll receive 1000 SET tokens.

4

Create an asset

Now you’ll create a custom token (asset) in your wallet to use for transactions:

  • In the extension, click the + Create Asset button.

  • Enter an asset name (e.g., XYZ), define the total supply of tokens, and click on Create Asset.

  • The new token will appear in your wallet with its details.

  • When you click on an asset, you should see the following details:

    • Asset ID: The unique identifier for the token on the blockchain.

    • Symbol: The short ticker of the token (e.g., XYZ).

    • Decimals: Defines how divisible the token is.

    • Your Balance: The number of tokens you currently hold.

    • Total supply: The maximum number of tokens issued.

5

Send and receive tokens

This step shows you how to transfer tokens between accounts using the FastSet Wallet extension.

All assets and their transfers made via the wallet are currently settled via our existing Devnet and they do not hold any monetary values.

  • Navigate to the wallet icon at the top of the extension.

  • Add a new account by clicking the + icon.

  • Go to the second account, click Receive, and copy the address.

  • Switch back to the first account, select the asset, and click Send XYZ.

  • Paste the recipient address, enter the amount or percentage, and confirm.

  • The balance will update in both accounts once the transaction is complete.

Every transaction on the browser extension costs a validation fee of 1 SET.

6

View Transactions

After completing a transaction, you can confirm its details in the FastSet Explorer:

  • In the wallet extension, open the Transactions tab and click the View in Explorer link next to your transaction.

  • The FastSet Explorer will display full transaction details:
